RE: Appreciation (was RE: OTR relocating)

Hi there,

Thanks for your kind sentiments. You know, through my posts on this subject of relatively low importance, I tried to take extra measures to use non-inclusive language. And more than once I mentioned that my views didn't apply to everyone, everywhere, if not in so many words.

Art and creative expression is obviously appreciated by a portion of the population in Indiana, as is evidenced by the fact Duncan Hall sold out in Lafayette Friday evening. Once again, in my experience, that is unfortunately atypical of what I have seen here. I have been other places where I have felt otherwise, and so far, Indiana is not one of those places.

Those skilled in marketing might tell you, if you want to know the majority of a region, look at the advertising there. And many will argue the truth in this matter. Plenty of letters have been written to newspapers in regard of the low-quality, mindless advertising that is generated to appeal to citizens of Indiana, or at least north-central Indiana where I have heard these comments.

It most certainly brings a smile to my face to hear of your interests, and I am well-aware of the fact you aren't alone, thank God. I wish I could surround myself with those types of spirits more often.

Cheers,
Michael
(Once again wondering if this has gone quite off-topic.)
