Moonlite Gardens & Blue Jordan Music Festival

I wanted to be at Lebo's to meet everyone but I was running very late.
Luckily several listees were at Blue Jordan Music Festival so it was like a
post-post-concert gathering.

I missed Brown House. I have seen them play before at St. Lizzie's
Cafe.
I really wanted to see them in front of a large audience. I am amazed at
what
the Nixon sisters, Kim and Carrie, can do at their age knowing that they
will
continue to grow musically. Kim writes her own songs. Chris F plays bass
for
them. Ticklepenny Corner was already playing when I arrived. I talked with
Chris F and had a quick hello with Chris and Jenni Smith. I did not see any
other listees (unless Jacob the photojournalist is a listee) until the next
day. Over-the-Rhine played very well--I want their new CD now. Fairpoint
Diary, the song with the toy piano would make a great single. I thought of
it
many times since the concert. I had a sweater and a jacket and still felt
cold. I am curious who Ricky is that lent his jacket to someone.

Blue Jordan Music Festival was a great second chance to see listees Dan
Temmesfeld, Amy Joy and her friend Erica (class of '01?). I watched Drew
Vogel (who was with Wendy) and Bruce Lachey get interviewed by Jessica. I
finally met Jay and Lindsey, Chris Emery and Lara Conrad, and Chris's friend
Brad. I was late for that show also (chores to do) and I missed Ashley
Peacock again. I met him later. He told me of a show out of town that I
will be able to go to in December so I will finally hear him after hearing
so much good about him. I took a few photos which I can eventually scan and
send offlist. It takes me a long time to finish a roll of film. I
apologize
for any names that I missed or misspelled.

Many of us were in the same group of blankets in front of the railroad
station where Over-the-Rhine played last year. Late in the afternoon the
power went out on that stage and it took a long time for it to be repaired.
I went to that stage to hear Monk but Monk was shifted to another stage. I
lingered to hear the Creekdippers then walked down to the other stage (there
were three stages in all) to watch Monk, then went back to the railroad
station
to hear Cowboy Junkies. Last year there was a horrible buzz in the sound
system when Over-the-Rhine played, but the sound was clear this year for
Cowboy Junkies. The afternoon was pleasantly cool enough to help slow down
the bugs, but night was cold again like it was on Friday. I got sick from
being in the cold two nights in a row. I recovered well today. The price
of
$15 day of show was a bargain for three stages of music from noon until
after
11pm.
