Roaring Lambs...
I recently picked up Squint record's compilation in honor of Bob Briner;
Roaring Lambs. It included new music by Vigilantes of Love (a cover of
Cockburn), Jars of Clay, Burlap to Cashmere, Steve Taylor, Sixpense None the
Richer, and of course, OVER THE RHINE. I know some folks have mentioned this,
but MAN -- this recording of GOODBYE is absolutely glorious -- I've got bootlegs
of how this was done live, but this is FAR better. 2 Vocals, Electric and Slide
guitars, 2 organs, Piano, Bass, Drums, Cello, 2 Viola, and Violin --> it sounds
simply majestic -- and more beatle-esque than even I could believe. But it's
great. I'm glad that after waiting so long for new material that, if this is
any insight into the forth-coming c.d., we will not at ALL be let down. Keep up
the good work folks!
