Or is it just a centuries old grudge match that in this day the hatred is 
there for the sake of hatred?  And hatred is of...? anyone? anyone?  yes, 
the darkside.

The funny thing is Ireland is not fighting to get the county of Ulster back, 
in fact, GARDA usually cooperates with British Security Service and Secret 
Intelligence service to hunt down extreme PIRA extremists.  In reality its 
not a fight for freedom or some love of anything, its the revolutionaries 
not wanting to admit that without the conflict they are just average 
bourgeois citizens without any marketable job skills.
