Re: who needs content anyway?

dear idolators,
speaking of daniel lanois, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND emmylou harris' 'wrecking
ball'. perhaps you otr fans all own this album. i discovered it through
otr cuz i know linford and karin enjoy this album. it is produced by lanois
and includes two or three lanois songs which emmylou really breathes life
into. she also covers julie miller (who will play in calvin college with
karin and linford, who i will soon be seeing in chicago, mind you), jimmy
hendrix, neil young, lucinda williams, bob dylan, steve earl. WRECKING BALL
is one of the greatest albums of all time. you all should own it. this
leads me to my next recommendation. as i was standing in the cd store one
luscious rain drenched, doleful night, sipping my black coffee with 4hrs
driving ahead of me, contemplating whether or not to purchase 'wrecking
ball', my decision was clinched as i noticed one of its tracks, "orpan
girl"! i immediately recognized it as the song i had heard Karin sing solo
on at one of their c-stone shows. GILLIAN WELCH! she's my personal favorite
these days. sadly only two cd's to chose from: 'hell among the yearlings'
and 'revival', which got nominated for a grammy. HATY is the darker of the
two. so please be good to yourselves, buy these cd's. they will scratch you
behind the ears and pat your head. you'll be happy to be in such good
company. good dog.

love,
brian
