In high school I took a trip out to the local novelty store and bought a
plastic knife whose blade retracted into the handle so it looked like it
actually "sunk into" whatever you stabbed it with...

...all so a friend and I could do an impromptu rendition of the "Romeo and
Juliet" scene from Harold and Maude in the middle of Chemistry class...
