@ Greg's thread + more (way too much, actually)
Par for the course for me, I'm gonna babble on about every topic I can
think of. Me: Engineering, Sales. Rubber-to-metal vibration isolation
components for the automotive industry. Cincy for a bit, Detroit for a
bit.
jg, I didn't get your grouchiness towards Charlotte's post. Did I miss
something?
who the heck is this t woode character anyway and why doesn't he
capitalize letters ever? i'm kinda a fan of that; it's soothing in a
way. i like it better than paragraph indents, at any case.
x-files has never drawn me in magically like i know it does to some, but
i've enjoyed the dozen or so episodes i've seen. "how the ghosts stole
christmas" from this season was amazingly fun. apparently they are
gonna answer a lot of the unanswered crap on 7 Feb and 14 Feb, 'cos they
think a lot of people are putting too much stock into that crud. they
wanna tell it and feel the river begin to move again, making room for
new stories. i hope the smoking man's in this one (like harrison
ford...)
"you walked in, just like smoke. with a little 'come on, come on, come
on' in your walk, come on." buy the newish afghan whigs 1965 cd, it's
great fun.
i think a good ric/linford analogy is they were just like similarly
charged magnets. heck, even on the gdbd(thr) cover and the wedding
picture sent out to the first 500 rhinelanders, ric is leaning away from
linford.
other questions (some not frequent, but) for the list and listees:
* who has a copy of the wnku member cd w/ exclusive live otr tracks?
* whatever happened to swingfully, nathan? he seemed cool.
* bink's arse: modern mystery or myth?
* why is jeff w "toast" when mr emery is renowned for french toast?
* is otr a christian band? (hahah, sorry)
i believe there should be a sarcasm character added to our collective
symbols. if they can spring the euro symbol on us, i say an "s" with a
horizontal line through it can internationally represent "sarcasm to
follow". that said, this isn't sarcastic:
swatch is trying to reinvent metric time (after the failure of a 10 hour
day). 1000 beats a day. no time zones. based at midnight swiss time,
the time is @0 beats. i like it. on a related note, ya know one can't
say 12pm or am. it's gotta be midnight or noon. "post" and "ante"
meridian don't apply when it's the clock's meridian. just a little
helpful info if you are still reading.
so who wants to submit otr covers for a otr tribute thing? low key, etc
etc. no permission required from the band. use their publishers, pay
'em the way it's supposed to be done. donate profits to an
uncontroversial charity. anyone want to contribute complete songs on cd
or dat, e-mail me. let's start a dialogue.
i read less than 20 proper books in my whole life. yikes. it's frankly
astonishing i can read at all.
anti-pedantically,
