Re: You're on to something here...

"Joshua M. Neds-Fox" <jnedsfox at moody_edu> sez:

Personally, I enjoy _Taking Tiger Mountain (by Strategy)_ better than HCtWJ.
That's just me, though. And, of course, I enjoy his purely ambient albums
much better than the others.

Which is only about 5,924 albums at last count. He's also writing editorials
for Wired magazine now, I see.

>I've heard "Wah Wah" and "Wrong Way Up," too, as far as collaborations go.

The first two Fripp & Eno albums, _No Pussyfooting_ and _Evening Star_ are
simply amazing. They tread where no one at the time had gone. These are
albums to play for people who think that ambient = boring.

Fripp's solo work is very good, too. The recent Soundscapes series has some
very memorable work on them, particularly _The Gates Of Paradise_, his most
mature ambient work to date.

ROIO = recording of illegitimate origin. It's a polite way to refer to
bootlegs. ;-) 'When The Tigers Broke Free' is a sort of holy grail to Floyd
collectors, because IIRC, it was only released as a B-side to one of the
tracks off _The Final Cut_ as a 45 rpm single. ('Not Now John', peut-etre?)
I think it's even more rare than the original 45 single of 'See Emily Play'
from the Syd Barrett days.
