I think about the uber-"indie" success story, R.E.M. I might not even know
it was the same band if you blindfolded me and played "Chronic Town" next
to "Up," but I won't get rid of either album. They're both good.
I've never thought it was any fun to listen to one album from any artist's
discography and leave it at that. If you bought "Nebraska," you haven't
heard the whole Boss. If you bought "Heroes," you haven't heard the whole
Bowie. If you bought "Eve"...
