It's the nature of the beast, you know.  This is a discussion list,
and at times like these, when there's no new OTR news of note, other
things get discussed.   It's the same thing on listservs everywhere,
and usenet, and on and on.   

There *is* an announcement list which only distributes official Over
The Rhine news & stuff.   You can get there from the same place that
got you here, which is http://www.medianation.org/OtR

I'm truly sorry you don't enjoy being a listie.
