I used to see them every time they played in or near Detroit; no small feat
if you factor in theater school and almost constant nightly rehearsals. I
remember the Flood tour at the Royal Oak Music Theater (before they put in
tables and took out the seats), where they did "Whistling in the Dark" with
an ancient marching bass drum. They had a metronome on the stage that they
used as a percussion instrument, miking it and setting it to the tempo of
whatever song they were doing. Man, those were good concerts. (tear
appears in corner of eye).

I remember how excited I was to see "Ant" on the "Istanbul" CD single and
realize that it had to be the same song I'd heard on the Dial-a-Song a
month earlier. Other songs popped up later, I think on 'Apollo,' but I
never did get to hear my favorite make it to a CD. It was this little
ditty about Bread Hair. I can barely remember it, it's been so long and I
only heard it once. Those were the days.

What does TMBG have in common with OTR? I can think of at least one
thing... can you?
