The Seahorse

Very out of date, but I've only just worked out how to post to the list
(don't ask) . . .

To quote, The Seahorse is, 'a roaming manor in the far reaches of Deene
village, England'. It was conceived as a centre where artists (of all
kinds)
could work, re-ingnite their inspiration and interact with other artists.
OtR
wise, The Seahorse released a compilation album in the summer of 1995 to
raise
funds for the project. The the first track on it is Murder.
The Seahorse was closely linked to the spirit of Greenbelt, an annual
Christian arts festival in (for some of its existence) Deene Park,
Northamptonshire. OtR played there most years between 1994-1996. In 1995
they released the double-a side 7" with Henderson called 'last day of
spring'.
The OtR song was Last Nite, the Henderson song, Someone I Used to Know. As
far as I know this is where both OtR songs made their recorded debut before
Besides.
As with all things, Greenbelt changed; likewise OtR. My fondest memories
are
of lying in the warm summer sun outside the marquee where OtR played semi-
acoustic sets. The brilliance of Greenbelt was that gigs could be
spontaneously organised as the long weekend went on. One year I'm sure OtR
played four times. In 1996 (I think - I've been too many years to have a
concrete grasp of dates!) they just played a set on the mainstage with Teri
(post Ric?) which was OK but not great. Dealing with a large and
unconverted
audience was tricky.
I trust this clarifies and does not confuse; again, please forgive my
possibly
shaky dates.
Regards,
Huw
