@ As warm as the night...
On days like this (in Cincinnati anyway) where it's raining and cooling
down and the black turns into grey and remains as day; Patience's
"Lullaby" is perfect to listen to repeatedly. Turn it up loud enough so
the bass tom feels like it's part of you. "It's one of my most favorite
OtR tunes", I think, on days like this. But then in the sun I'm just as
eager to dismiss it. When's the sun due back? I think I'd give up an
Over the Rhine song for more sun right about now...

Regarding this whole Sixpence stuff, I throw two eager feet in the
"convert" circle. I bought the '98 self titled CD and the Kiss Me CD5
(I'm a sucker for those) and just recently heard more from the other
stuff (Demos, Fatherless and the Widow, Beautiful Mess and Tickets for a
Prayer Wheel). Wow. Their production is really crisp, and the guitars
are always well defined, and you can usually understand what Leigh is
singing without reading a lyric sheet (not that that's _always_ good).
I called Todd's OtR recording, and he didn't say much but he said to try
the office number. I called it, and a office worker girl answered. She
gave me the next four scheduled dates (13Jan Boston, 14 Portsmouth NH,
15 Irving Plaza NYC, 16 9:30 Club DC) and said they are still working on
the demo. She'd been on vacation a while, but thought the demo
consisted of at least 3 songs, new stuff that had not been done
previously (that corraborates with Brian from the Monk show as well).
So that's pretty cool news.
