Oh I remember that cassette sampler well - that's how I got hooked. Karin's amazing voice! They were unlike anything I'd heard before. I didn't see them that year either but I saw them the next. But I didn't join the list until just now - what does that make me? Time warped? Man, this is going back 11 years. I don't think I was at the New Band stage show because all I remember about them that year was that nifty little cassette sampler every fest goer got that included "If I'm Drowning." I don't think I saw them until the next year, when Tim was there. Of course, if I could see a '91 schedule, it might jog my memory, but who's still got one of those?
I didn't realize, either, that it was rare for listees to have been into the band back in the early days. The way they would close with that super-long extended "If I'm Drowning" was like some kind of musical high.
