The last time that I saw her was at the Cornerstone Magazine Stage at
Cornerstone Magazine's Music And Arts Festival 1999. The performance
seemed to have been thrown together at the last minute, not unlike
several others, in the history of the festival, but, in Jahn's case, it
is emblematic of a short period, at least 1996-1999, when one of the
most promising voices of the second millennium, and, with some hope, the
third, was seemingly, silenced.

She seemed to have had a total image makeover in 1999, compared to how
she appeared in 1996.

Why? Why? Why? The label was downsized, _Sparkle_ was marketed like it
had been recorded by Hole, similar artists named Masen, and MacLachlan
had already broken big, Jahn failed to get '97 & '98 C-stone invites,
she wore earth tones at her 1996 C-stone Gallery Sage appearance, she
faked an encore (the worst thing a new artist can do at C-stone?
especially following Carolyn Arends in 1996, which, at the time, was
like following the Pope).

I prefer the mid-1990's self-titled indie, because, with, perhaps,
greater effect than GDBD, it exposes her early songs, stripped down so
far, that you can almost smell the old varnished woodwork of the
interiors of old buildings on the campus of Greenville College which
spawned acts like Jacob I Loved, and Jars Of Clay.
