sorry, that is kinda elliptical...

meaning, I feel as though I have to dig further for
subtext, hypertext, intertextuality with "progressive"
male writers.  eg. flann o'brien (the third
policeman!), pynchon, cees nooteboom.  male writers
i've read *reference* more, whether it be footnotes or
historical events or just assuming a certain body of
knowledge from outside the particular text.  sorta
moves the frame... the opposite of a eudora welty (i
can't remember the short story i'm thinking of in
particular), who seems to enclose and encapsulate,
*frame* her plot sequences.  (hey, she was a
photographer, she's allowed...:)
