Good grief!  I volunteer at the Ark; I've probably been to 40 concerts in the
last 12 months!  How could I possibly pick 5?  Let me think about what stands
out...  

in no particular order:

The Monk Christmas show 
  (honorable mention for the other 
   two Monk/Ric shows I got to see)
Dar Williams w/ Kris Delmhorst
Peter Mulvey (both shows - Ark and Canal Street)
OtR at the Ark (Canal Street was pretty cool, too)
Ellis Paul and Susan Werner
Laura Love and Catie Curtis
Martin Sexton

Okay, that's 11 shows.  Best I could do.  And that's skipping Russil Paul,
Saffire (the Uppity Blues Women), Pub Domain, Cuig, and some other acts 
whose names I can't remember but were really amazing.  :-)
