Re: Grand Revelation

Argh. This is *exactly* why I didn't want us to get sidetracked into evolution.
This kind of discussion goes nowhere, because people believe what they want to
believe, and ignore the facts. For the record, though, in case anyone on the
fence is listening...

> There has been no evidence of evolution of one species to another.

Not true.

> There should be thousands of transitional fossils as species evolve from one
> species to another-

Not necessarily true. There are any number of reasons why a transitional fossil
might not survive (for one thing, the fossil record only preserves a small fraction
of the species that have lived on this planet, so the odds that enough would fit
*your* definition of transitional are pretty small). Also, "transitional" is
notoriously hard to quantify, because as soon as transitional fossils are found,
people who don't want to accept that say "well what about the transition between
that and the next one?" Ad absurdum.

> we don't find 'em.

Yes we do.

> Evolution isn't science just as creation isn't science.

Not true.

> They are all based on theories-not repeatable facts.

Then Astronomy and Astrophysics aren't science either, since I can't make a black
hole in the laboratory. And history isn't science either, since I can't repeat
the fall of troy.

I have to go. Any further discussion of this topic should go off-list, IMHO.
