Favorite VOL
I think I'm going through a phase where I kind of got sick of VOL. At least, I
lost track of Bill about the time when a gazillion different versions of
Audible Sigh were coming out. [How many did there end up being? I can't
remember if I have two or three. Have to check when I get home.] I saw VoL
for the first time at the same Cornerstone where I first saw OtR (1993), and
got all the records they had at that point. Jugular, Driving the Nails,
Killing Floor... I think that was it. Struggleville came out next. Then I
faithfully got everything that came out until I couldn't keep up any more.
Around Slow Dark Train they started blurring together, and I couldn't even tell
you what's on Audible Sigh. There was Live at the 40 Watt, To the Roof of the
Sky, and then Audible Sigh, right? Dang, I'm surprised I let it slip so much.
I used to really, really love VoL, and I still greatly admire Bill's poetry and
musician ship. I just don't find myself pulling the CDs off the shelf any
more. I wonder why... I figure one of these days I'll start listening to
them, and then I probably won't be able to stop. :-)
Oh, yeah, my favorite VoL is Killing Floor, and then Welcome to Struggleville.
Have a good evening, everyone!
