or as the Bill Mallone said in song, using a phrase from a long time ago,
it's a Double Cure - first comes the pain, then comes the cure. I'm not
positive on it's origins but as I understand it you're actually close in
your joking here. Double Cure originally was a term used in the medical
profession and had to do with medicine and healing, how the cure can painful
before the healing, then was reinterpreted spiritually and used during the
reformation.
