hi.
i used to be on this list.
Indeed. In fact it appears you still are on the list... Of course, you could just be eavesdropping via the archive, but it's still good to see an old-timer make an appearance again.
so, unsung...i'm suprised it hasn't
been more discussed here on the list. maybe
it was last month or something. if so, excuse
the intrusion. if not, what are your thoughts?
i really liked it. still do, actually.
Can give you a great reason why I haven't said anything - I don't have a copy. When they were first put up for sale I felt like I'd be becoming too much of an obsessive completist if I bought it, so I didn't act. Having said that though, I finally relented and purchased a copy just before beginning to type this up.
it's interesting that the 'christian' thread
happened here recently. when one of the two
beloved artists we know (sort of) and love
ends his one and only book with a very readable
testament to the foundation of his quest to
live the days given. god is a topic, it's too
bad people can't reasonably discuss it.
At lunch today I ducked into a Carl's Jr. (a regional fast food place, for those of you back east) near my office here and grabbed a table. At an adjacent table were two guys whom I soon discovered were embroiled in a theological debate which had apparently been raging for a couple of hours already. By this point, these two were getting fairly heated and eventually one of them literally accused the other of preaching heresy and stormed outside. The alleged heretic chased him to his car where the argument continued for a while longer. Eventually they both got into a car and drove off together.
All in all, for some reason, the experience reminded me quite a bit of this list.
That's enough for now.
