So it's not a "milestone" birthday (eg. 30, 40, 21, etc.)?  If I had the
resources I might think of doing the same.  I don't know that I'd say that
it was celebrating me; I would just invite people over to enjoy the bands I
chose.  It does seem a bit conceited to throw your own birthday party, but
maybe that's just my opinion.

On the other hand, my 30th birthday is this November, and Karin & Linford,
if you're reading and would be interested in throwing me a little party down
here in Georgia, please feel free to get back with me.  ;-)
