a great job (Re:Re: Greetings from a newstie)

Wes grimaced:
must... become... productive!

And I sympathize:
Oh, the rigors of work, and oh! for the days of classes! Honestly though, I'm glad to be done and wouldn't go back for anything. Today. Tomarrow may be a different story.
Forgive me for rambling a little; I'm feeling a bit verbose today. I honestly think I have the best job and boss possible for me this summer. I'm working at Argonne Nat'l Lab (which probably means little to most of you...that's ok), and my boss is one of the smartest guys I know. I'm not talking just about book smarts (although he's a ph.d.), but life smarts. He understands the way the science industry works and has bent over backwards to help me navigate careerwise. On the more immediate level, he doesn't really care what I do with my time during the day as long as I get my work done. Normally not being in a structured environment would probably give me too much room to be anti-constructive, but in this case it's wonderful because I graduated from college about a month and a half ago burned out on life. As it is, I have time to play outside (any ultimate frisbee fans in the orchard?), surf the web, and listen to you all (you have contributed to my unwinding process..!
.t!
hank you all!). And there's even time for the research I'm doing and really like!
All of that brings me to the question I'd like to pose: what's your ideal job? Since there's a wide variety of backgrounds and interests represented by those who'll be reading this I'm expecting a few interesting answers...;) Regardless, I would like to wish you all a wonderful weekend!!!
Heather
