maybe in general cos you don't ask certain questions in public - kind of
like a specifc politeness rubbing itself off on society.

it'd be like asking 'so you stop beating your kid?' or 'are you a theif?'
just not done.

then again. i grew up with a different sense of hohour,respect, politenss
and public shame.

not really an american thing, i guess. not to bash american.

it's ok - you fauxpas'd and people let you know. think of it as a textual
