when salt was a precious commodity, bartering was done
with that.  in a strange way, you could almost see
currency as a socialist ideal in form?  but not in
practice?  people have so many disparate needs and
things they value, that money is just an agreed-upon
generic marker for exchange?

forgive me for waxing ridiculous, i turn a ripe 31
tomorrow and today is my friday.  i hate money - i'm
paying off education loans, so i rarely see much of
it.
