Re: Short Skirt and a Long Jacket (no OtR)

Perhaps I'm judging prematurely, but this song actually made me kind of
disappointed in Cake. It smacks of the current socially acceptable trend
of mentioning a few "PC" things you like about a girl/women in general,
and then using that as an excuse to throw out the stuff you really want,
i.e. short skirt and what not. Sure, there are plenty of "artists" out
there that disrespect women much much more, but I *knew* they weren't
cool. Like I said, this comes from disappointment with a band I thought
I really liked. I remember the first time I heard Frank Sinatra (from
Fashion Nugget), I loved it. I love a lot of other songs on that album
too. So I *want* to like them! I don't know, I'm probably not being very
fair to Cake, but this was what struck me when I first heard the song
you mentioned and you asked for comments. :)
