As a relative new-comer to the list, I'll guess it's all the new dumb people who are repressing the intelligent discourse. (go me!) Actually, it's probably partly due to having so many new folks. Sure nice to have some idea of who the other folks are when you try to talk to them. In my experience, people who leap into a forum and start pounding away at big topics are usually more interested in being heard than in conversing. Hey, direct conversation where you will and see who follows. 

That said, twas some fine thinking in that old Moth thread. Certainly an informative passage from that book. I'd be interested to hear people compare their emotional response to that passage to their emotional response to the song. How similar they be, wonders me?
