Ain't nothing sayin' that ain't been said afore, but...

We got back on Sunday, late in the night. We had an unfortunate accident
with our l'il Honda in Iowa on the way home, but both Sherry (you guessed
it, Zayne...my wife) and were uninjured, as was the poor woman who we
accidentally rear-ended. However, we nonetheless have a non-functioning
car in the middle of Iowa. Bugger. Luckily, our fellow travellers in
crime from the Twin Cities were ten minutes behind us and got us home just
fine.

Zayne, Kylie, Smitty, Twila, and Angealika, and everyone else who I'm
having a hard time remebering in the miasma of names and glorious
faces...it was wonderful to meet all of you (and good to see Kristen U
again...). As I'm a little ways out of the way, I don't get to see most
of y'all, and Sherry and I really enjoyed talking with y'all (and sharing
a chunk of blanket in the case of Zayne...).

The shows were lovely. In a year that started turning me to the Dark Side
of seminars and films at C-Stone, the Over the Rhine shows shone like a
big ol' beacon in my mind. Getting to hear Swallowtail again as well as
"Jesus in New Orleans" was a real joy, and I'm looking forward to hearing
this new album.

It was nice as well t osee a lot of young listeners taht weren't with
their parents listening to the music. There's something about seeing late
teenagers listen to OtR that makes me smile.

Oh, and seeing Poughkeepsie performed for Kylie? Pure gold.
