meeting karin in a rest stop


         i posted about this earlier...but it didn't go thro...so i'll try
it again.

i  had a phenomenal time at c-stone....met some wonderful people from the
list...only wish i had more time to spend w/ everyone.  i thoroughly
enjoyed otr's sets.  karin's rendition of "like a radio" at the end of the
acoustic set gave me chills from head to toe...in spite of the sweltering
humidity & heat.  that woman has been given an incredible gift.

other big highlights for me at the fest were mike knott, da, lost dogs, the
choir, vol and many others that i just caught one or two songs on my way to
the next concert.  the heat and dust were overwhelming...and losing the
bikes really sucked...but it was an awesome time.

i got to meet linford after the acoustic set...i swear the creativity &
talent is spilling from those blue eyes of his.  very open & friendly.  i
was impressed.

then...to the subject of my email...we were stopping for the gazillionth
time at a rest area for the kids to take a break...and were heading in when
my husband nudged me and said "there goes jack & karin".  sure enough,
karin was hurrying to the rest room.  i didn't want to appear as a crazed
groupie...but i wanted to at least let her know how much i appreciated her
art.  i said "hi karin" & she looked rather blankly at me.  i flashed the
c'stone band that i forgot to remove, & told her i was a fan of her music.
karin probably was exhausted & i'm sure she'd have rather been left
alone...but she was gracious enough to take a few minutes to talk to my
friend & i...and even asked us a few questions.  i was again impressed.
and karin is indeed even more beautiful in person up close ...even more
than on stage.  somehow it doesn't seem fair that one person can be blessed
w/ such an amazing voice...and beauty too.  : )  karin...if you're
"listening"....thanks for taking those few moments when i'm sure you just
wanted to get on your way.  and thanks for sharing your gift w/ all of us.

anyway....i highly recommend c'stone to all of you...i'm still floating...
