Kylie's Cornerstone Experience...
Oh my. I know you're all waitin on this one. ;)
Well, Joe(the boyfriend) and I arrived at Cstone on Friday evening. We got
some grub, walked around, and then watched the end of the 77's concert so we
could get a good seat for OtR. We quickly met some listies(which I was dying
to do). I met Bob the Dancing Monkey, Zayne, Twila, Kristin, and her
hubby(?),new listie Angie, and her lurking boyfriend John. So we sat with
all of them. (after the concert I met So Briquet and Smitty the Saint)
Anyhoo, the concert was freaking amazing. They kicked it so heavy. Ya'll
already got the setlist so I won't go into that. But I will say that Karin
had on a sweet outfit. Most kickin belt I've ever seen. I kept wondering if
she got any of it on sale. :)
Anyhoo, I'm struggling b/c I want to tell all of you everything that
happened after the concert but I feel like I should just keep it to myself.
It was nothing short of just like almost the coolest thing that has ever
happened to me. :) I just love those people called Over the Rhine.
On to the next day...Linford informed us that they would be signing stuff at
their merch booth in the afternoon. So, Joe bought a cd and with that
purchase we got a free poster and then had them signed. Again, cool
experience. (Jack, you rock!) I just seriously love these people for their
genuine-ness. After that we went over to the new band stage to see
Brownhouse, pretty much b/c K and L said we all should. They're good, I
really enjoyed their concert. Following that we headed to the acoustic stage
to get good seats. Riki Michelle was playing...wow! Anyhoo, we got to sit
with the listies again. Had the opp to meet Mark from Holland after this
concert...poor guy got his stuff stolen from some jerk. (and ps shame on the
listies who didn't introduce themselves!) Soo...this concert was just, well
I really have no words. :) As Smitty said, Poughkeepsie was dedicated to a
list member. That list member was me. :) Tears come to my eyes just thinkin
about it. (thank you, Karin and Linford) I will never forget that moment.
Whew, moving on...This was a much shorter concert. It was a great, great
show. Again, ya'll already have the setlist. Kind of sad, being Jack's last
concert and all while living in the states. (he's not finished yet) My
boyfriend now owns the pick Jack played with at this show. :)
I wish you all could have been at Cstone to see these shows. Like if heaven
was a concert, OtR would have been the main act...err something. :) Does it
get any better than this?
I took a lot of pictures. (kylie's under the stage cam) :) Oh my gosh Cstone
listees...we have an inside joke! ;)
Um, I've lost my train of thought b/c of all this reminiscing. (that's how
amazing it was!)
Ohh...I have 3 new obsessions. Orphan Girl, Like a Radio, and Toledo(ohio).
And my continuing love affair with Poughkeepsie.
Have a good one.
Loves,
Kylie the biggest OtR fan
