Re: Fame and America (no OTR)

Karin and Linford aren't Gods?? ;) Juuuust joking. I don't see K & L as
celebs, I mean I couldn't see them in that lite. They're too real. They make
music b/c they love it. Not that like pop stars and all don't love it...it's
just that they all have this image of perfection(worldly perfection). And
they make so much money, sometimes it seems so fake. No celeb has ever
affected my life the way Over the Rhine has. Life doesn't have to be so fast
paced, we don't have to know what's next or what we're gonna be doing in the
next 5 years...or even tomorrow. Their music, and their passion for what
they do has taught me that.

There's one cent.

So I'm just curious. Is it the media and our superficial American way of
life
that makes us believe that famous celebrities can change the world? Can
they
change the world? Why do we follow them like they are Gods...like
Over-the-Rhine?

Thoughts anyone?

thanks and sorry for the long-winded post. LOL
