Normally, no, but I wondered if maybe Matt knew about some technique that

But they have to get 'em onto the filmstrips *somehow*! :)
Of course, many DVDs, like _A Bug's Life_, are taken straight from the
original computer code, so there's no film involved at *all*.
And even "traditional" animated films use so much CGI these days -- think
of the "Deep Canvas" technique in Disney's _Tarzan_ -- that the hand-drawn
cels are actually put together inside the computer, and the DVDs that are
produced of these films are taken straight from digital sources, too.

Yeah, that's a great example -- but I believe it is Thomas Schumacher, the
head of Disney's animation department, and not one of the animators who
makes that point. I *hate* seeing that guy on the Disney DVDs. Maybe I'm
not giving him enough credit, but he really comes across as a "suit".
