RE: bench? oh that bench...(was Re: bench description)

the benches/pools/shade trees/knolls/niches, et al are quiet respite places
we all need in this, our "imaginary orchard". a "sanctuary", as we traverse
the daily grind of life. a "place" we can wax nostalgic...become entranced
in the ambience...glory in the beauty of "creation"...be one with ourselves
& those we choose to embrace...let our muse run amuck...savour the smells,
sights & subtleties of the orchard. a calming place. a peaceful place. a
place your "spirit" can be renewed...refreshed...rejuvenated. may i say
it?...a tranquil place.

leisel's solace place (say that ten times as fast as you can), is one of the
many enchanting areas in the ever-expanding orchard. as is rhys', bethanys,
michelles, barrys & kylies (unless she decides to "redecorate").

so...what does yours look like?

tranquilly,
david

where'd THAT come from?

the benchs came from david. who seems to think we all
need benchs in the orchard. which is now crowded with
said benchs.

i threw mine in the pool, well pushed it really as it
was one of the those pretty concrete ones with scrolly
things on the side. so i pushed and it took awhile
and i strained something in my back and i'm ashamed to
say, said a couple of curse words under my breath
directed at david. i live in the pool in the garden
behind the house. there's a hill gently sloping down
from the house and pool sits at the bottom of the
slope and the bench now sits at the bottom of the deep
end. it's a small rectangular pool with slate sides
and bottom, the water has a lake hue tinge thrown off
from the stone, it's as natural looking as you can get
considering the water is clorinated. there are peony
bushes around one corner of the pool and huge tree
with winding, reaching branches grows on the hillslope
and covers half the pool with shade. there are dents
in the ground where people have pulled up adirondack
chairs to sit, but they soon found the chairs were
happier in the water, as were they. you don't sit in
my corner of the garden. you float. you float on
your back and stare at the sky through the branches
overhead and on a good day there is piano music
drifting down from the house, on a better day it's
someone playing the cello and the slight soft sound of
thunder from the storm brewing the next town over.

and if the grammar gestapo edits that paragraph i
swear to g-d i'll find my own spatula of divine
retribution when he's over for dinner next friday.
