My name is Rose and I am a sometimes poster/regular lurker to the OTR List.
These are a great group of people. Enjoy!
Cornerstone Festival <www.cornerstonefestival.com> is a music fest
traditionally held during 4th of July weekend in Bushnell, IL. It is
sponsored by a group called Jesus People USA (JPUSA) basically, a group of
hippies who came to Jesus during the Jesus movement of the late 60's early
70's. They live in 'intentional' community (communal style) in Chicago, IL.
Regular performers at the fest include, Over the Rhine (who traditionally
close the fest for 12am-2+), The 77's, Violet Burning, Michael Knott, 5 Iron
etc...the music offerings include acoustic to hard core punk music.
Since the fest is sponsored by JPUSA, there are Christian teachings and
seminars that take place during the week. I highly recommend attending Jay
Bakker's seminar if he is there again this year. He keeps it real and is not
afraid of not fitting in with 'mainstream thought.'
