They did these when I saw 'em too, which was just last Wednesday @
Pittsburgh's Rosebud. Man, those guys are too LOUD for that place!

Ty's "Goldilox" (as sung by the crowd alone)

See, we didn't get "Goldilox". Our "Silent Planet" tune was "What is
This?". Early on, my heart was breaking for Doug, as he sang "God, what am
I supposed to believe?", inteasd of the origial "God, what am I supposed to
do?" Again, I was saddened during "Message"- "I don't know if there's
anybody up there listening, but send a message." Kinda hard to enjoy the
show when I am so upset thinking about what a crummy hand life has dealt the
singer. (The same applies to the song "Looking for Love.)

Still, I did enjoy it. I was thinking today just how rare a band like
Midnight Oil is, rocking so hard after 25 years, but this post reminded me
that Doug said King's X had been around for 22! Unlike the Oils, the
convictions have changed a bit, but, like the Oils, King's X rock harder as
they get older! Last week's show was insane!

Oh, and the trick to getting "Over My Head" is as follows: instead of
cheering for an encore, get the crowd to sing the "King's X choir" bit.
Trust me.

During one of those extended solos, the same FANatic who would get us "Over
My Head" got the crowd to chant J-E-R-R-Y, in time to his beat. This guy
must be a drummer; he had the build.

"Believe", from "Manic Moonlight", was great, and melancolic. Doug told us
how belief in yourself is necessary before you can believe in anything else-
God, Jesus, etc. He said that one person had written him a letter of
dispute on that point, but he knew from personal experience that it was
true. How sad! Pigheaded Christians are driving this man away from God. I
mean, substitute "Love" for "Believe", and I doubt anyone would argue.
Really, these two words are interchangable, in this context.

I think I'm gonna go to the King's X website and write Doug a letter of
encouragement. Contraty to belief, I'm not a homophobe. (Hate that term.)

ALL the concerts I want to go to are in the middle of the week.

They did that one! Also, "Talk to You"!

still deaf,

Manic Matt
