Yeah, that's a good tune.
Please read over my original post carefully and notice these two things:
1) Yes, I called the Bible's omission "very telling and very sad", but the
sadness comes from my not understanding and fearing the worst, as opposed to
my meaning the Christianity exhibited here is somehow in a sad state. The
passage above, which you quoted, is really about me trying to get to the
bottom of this. (Hence all the questions.) I think the responses have been
interesting, and I've enjoyed them all.
2) The passage in brackets from my original post clearly spelled out that I
had no wish to offend the other Christian "good souls" on the list. It
elaborated on the fact that what I really found most "telling" about the
fact that the Bible wasn't mentioned was that it proved conclusively that
the Christians on this list aren't all about soapbox preaching, just
sharing. Otherwise, the "most influencial" thread would have been a golden
oppourtunity for evangelism.
I'm really not a smug person, just concerned and curious. Were I truly
smug, I'd point out that your post did nothing to address either my concerns
or my curiousity, but I'm not smug, so I won't. ;-)
One part master Limbuagh,
Matt
