as a "known Christian" (at least i think most of you know me as that), the
bible is absolutely one of the most influential books in my life. but i
think you also need to look at the different questions that were asked. i
didn't list the bible as my "flint tool" (which it is at times, but i
wouldn't necessarily say that flint is the same thing as most influential).
i'm not ashamed of the gospel. but i think one of the most beautiful
things about God--at least in my own life--is that God uses so many things
aside from the bible to kick my butt and speak truth to me--often through
honest literature and music. God used the voices of humans to speak truth
in the bible--who's to say that God doesn't use the voices of writers today
to continue speaking truth?
just a late saturday morning thought...
