influential book/cd/movie

(once again procrastinating)
books: "traveling mercies" by anne lamott, "stealing jesus" by
bruce bauer, and a book that i just read that is truly amazing,
"proverbs of ashes" by rita nakashima brock and rebecca parker.
highly recommended if you're at all interested in christian
theology.
cds: even though i rarely listen to it anymore, back when i was
13 "little earthquakes" by tori amos really changed my
perception of music. and then more recently, GDBD for sure, and
a gospel album by cissy houston that opened me up to the lovely
world of gospel music. though right now i'm wishing that i
HADN'T been opened to that world, b/c i'm supposed to try out
for a solo in gospel choir tonight & i sound terrible as of yet.
and lastly, movies: probably "even cowgirls get the blues",
that uproarous flick based on the tom robbins novel. and for
some reason, when i was young, i could NOT stop watching the
marla hanson tv movie. i've seen it at least 30 times, though
not in the past ten years.
peace y'all,
