Re: "The Case of the Found CD's"
Perhaps this will date me, or lump me in with the 1000's of 80's-music fans
who, like that guy int he article, think they're edgy but are really getting
old. However.
My flint CD's are:
U2-Joshua Tree
and
OtR-Eve.
JT was, is and always will be road trip music. especially when i'd be
half-asleep in the back of my good friend's old, slightly rusty, baby blue
station wagon as we headed home from a long weekend of rock climbing in
Kentucky.
Or the 10-hour drive from Red River Gorge to Chicago with one of my best
friends ever, talking about our dreams and how many of them we should try to
follow at once, about whether we were crazy to think we might actually get
published someday, and why were still talking about these things instead of
*doing* them.
Eve, on the other hand, was music we'd study to in college. Except that,
whenever 'Bothered' came on, we'd turn off the lights, except for whatever
candles happened to be burning (in those days, it seemed there was always
one lit, somewhere), and the room would grow quiet.
I could go on and on. But I'll spare you that.
