Simple Steamed Broccoli and Cauliflower with Roasted Garlic Butter

Ingredients

2 tablespoon Olive Oil
4 ea cloves Garlic Peeled
2 tablespoon Butter Room Temperature
1/2 head Cauliflower Cut Into Florets
1/2 head Broccoli Cut Into Florets
to taste Sea Salt
to taste Pepper


 

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Make the garlic butter: Place garlic on a sheet of aluminum foil and douse with 1 tablespoon of the olive oil. Wrap garlic cloves in foil and bake in preheated oven until tender, about 20 minutes. Transfer garlic to a large mixing bowl, crush it with the back of a spoon, and add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to make a paste. Add butter, beat until smooth. Set aside.

3. Arrange broccoli and cauliflower in a steamer basket and season liberally with salt (preferably sea salt) and pepper. Place basket over a pot of boiling water and cover. Steam until vegetables are firm-tender. Transfer into a bowl or pan with the garlic butter. Add 2 tablespoons of the steaming liquid to the bowl and toss gently.

4. Serve immediately.
