"Potato chip cookies, decorated with colored sugar, are a Christmas treat around my house. Santa was always left some potato chip cookies, a glass of milk, and a carrot for Rudolph. Never heard any complaints from the man in red, and I don't think your group will complain either!"

Ingredients

1 cup Butter Or 1/2 Lb
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Potato Chips Crushed Medium-Fine
1/2 cup Pecans Chipped
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 cup Flour All-Purpose
Colored Sugar

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Add nuts, crushed chips, and vanilla. Stir in flour, mixing constantly. Work dough with hands until mixed together. Form into walnut-sized balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.

Butter the bottom of a small drinking glass, dip buttered glass into colored sugar and flatten cookies. Use a lot of sugar or else the cookies will stick to the bottom of the glass. Make the cookies quite thin. Cook for 12-15 minutes, or until slightly brown. Do not overcook.

They lose crispness if allowed to sit out. Do not store in an airtight container - a standard cookie jar is best for cookies meant to be crisp.
