This evening was another "bar" dinner as we were on our way to rehearsal for the excerpt of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW that will be competing this weekend at the regional community theater festival.
DINNER: Friday, June 27, 2003
Tonight was dinner-on-the-go as I busted it to get up to the theater competition after work. Just grabbed a couple cheeseburgers from Burger King on the way to the facility.
THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW competed tonight at 10:30pm (the last excerpt of the evening) and did very well, despite the fact that the microphones borked. The actors did a super job of making themselved heard, and the show had loads of energy!
DINNER: Saturday, June 28, 2003
Tonight’s dinner was banquet food from the buffet at the theater competition. Decent, but nothing special.
CONGRATULATION TO ROCKY HORROR SHOW!
Falcon Productions’ version of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW was generously awarded at the convention, and will represent this region in the state competition! Congratulations to Ted (director) and the cast of the show for their hard work. Jay, Al, Joe, Dan, and Wendy all won specific mentions, as well as direction and ensemble.

DINNER: Sunday, June 29, 2003
Tonight, Drew went with his parents and old-college-buddy Scott Thrasher to Northern Kentucky University to see GREATER TUNA, part of their summer dinner theater program.
The dinner was decent… Chicken in white wine sauce, sliced ham, rice, vegetables, green salad, and bread.
The show was very very funny!
DINNER: Monday June 30, 2003
My last meal before my hernia surgery! We ate at Cracker Barrel for dinner. Drew had their special chicken baked with cracker crust, cheddar cheese, and broccoli. It was plenty tasty!
Hernia Surgery
Today, after more than a year of procrastination, Drew underwent his first surgery ever, to have an inguinal hernia repaired.
Nervous but committed to "the ride", Drew was suprised at how smooth & painlessly the actual surgery went — he was awake one moment in the operating room, and the next moment — BOOM — he was waking up from a refreshing sleep in the recovery room.
As the pain meds wore off, the surgery site became especially painful and tender. Rolling over while sleeping is hard, standing up, laying down, or sitting up are all difficult.
A cough last night was darned near enough to cause Drew to pass out.
But, now, 30+ hours after surgery, the pain begins to slightly diminish — I’m sitting up as I write this. I’m still grateful for my Percocet!!!
