Tonight, we 'ate' at Chi-Chi's restaurant in Forest Park. I say 'ate' because we almost didn't eat there. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not terribly busy — it was a pretty good crowd, but there were plenty of empty tables — we were…

Because we were in scuba class from 8:00am-5:00pm, we didn't really feel like cooking. We ate instead at Frisch's, directly across from the dive center. Frisch's fish sandwiches and onion rings (with a side of cottage cheese) — a nice warm meal for not a…

DINNER: Tuesday, January 28, 2003

Tonight, a group of Wendy's co-workers met for dinner. We intended to dine at SONG PHUNG restaurant in Forest Park — a nice Vietnamese restaurant with a wonderful Hot & Sour Soup, but we were dismayed to find the restaurant closed and dark. We don't yet know why it wasn't open.

So, we had to regroup and form another plan. After some discussion, Wendy & I reluctantly agreed to dine at O'Charley's, an "American fare" restaurant. I would call it "American fair" since there isn't really anything special about the food (other than their delicious yeast rolls, which I can throw down by the basketful, especially if I've got some "Baked Potato Soup" to dunk it into!

I had their Chipolte Chicken Skillet, which was reasonably tasty and served at a hotter temperature than I've found at many restaurants. The single chicken breast was brushed with chipolte barbeque sauce (not very spicy, but a rich flavor) and served atop potatoes, carrots, broccoli, and too few onions. All were placed upon a cast-iron serving skillet and brought to the table.

I don't know why it is, but I always have trouble remembering a meal at O'Charley's. It's just food — nothing special, in my opinion.

Wendy made dinner tonight. She made a nice Jambalaya using a packet from Zatarain's. She gussied it up by adding shrimp and spicy sausage. YUMMY! We also discussed a new scheme for our dining. Starting "real soon", we're going to begin dining much more frequently…

DINNER: Thursday, January 30, 2003

Tonight, we ate a simple pepperoni pizza with "sauce in the crust". Nothing special, just easy and quick. Plus there was enough left over that Wendy had a couple slices for lunch on Friday!
