SYSTEM UPGRADES IN PROGRESS!
During the few days before and after Christmas 2002, I will be updating several of this system's components to the latest versions.
The tentative plan is this:
- Upgrade Mondo/Mindi to the latest version (1.61) — complete!
- Do a comprehensive backup of the system to CD — complete!
- Backup the current web-directory and store off-site — complete!
- Upgrade to RedHat 8.0 (from 7.2) — complete! (This step was probably the single longest period of system downtime that we'll experience during this round of updates.)
- Run RedHat's Up2Date utility to update RedHat 8.0 to the current patchlevel — complete!
- Update to the latest version (1.3.3r1) of PHP-Accelerator — complete!
That's it for today… I probably won't get to the rest below until after Christmas. Let me know if you encounter any system weirdness!
- Update to PostNuke 0.723 (from 0.714) — complete!
- Test the new PostNuke installation — complete!
- Backup the web-directory and store off-site — complete!
- Test everything carefully — complete!
- Do a comprehensive backup of the system to CD — complete!
There will be some brief periods of downtime during these updates, but I'll try to do it during the time that you're playing with your cool new Christmas toys!
As the updates progress, I will update the list above. Once the updates are complete, I'll post a message here.
