Wendy & I were really busy today… We had a wedding to attend (congratulations, Lonnie & Brittany!), had to run home to take care of the dogs, and then it was back down to Newport Kentucky for TWO performances of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Falcon Theater.

We had dinner at the wedding, a very nice buffet with chicken and roast beef, and all the trimmings. We were quite full through the first performance, but then stopped over at Lightfoot’s Restaurant for a snack (fried bologna sandwich and grilled cheese) between shows.

The show is going very well. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, it’s not too late. Visit the theater website (above) for tickets and information.

OPENING NIGHT OF THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Falcon Theater! I left work a little early to come home and have a few minutes of downtime before we left for the theater. Our call was 6:30 and we made it on time, so I got all of my setup work done (change batteries on the microphones, check the sound equipment, and get everything ready-to-roll) and then went two doors down to the Mexican place for a couple Cheese Quesadillas that I ate while standing in the theater.

Opening night went really well. We had some ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW community-cast members who attended this evening and screamed and shouted lines during the show which were very funny (and different from those that I’ve learned).

After the show and the standing-around-and-chatting with friends and patrons, some of the cast went to Lightfoot’s to grab a drink and some snacks before heading home to sleep in.

Today, I present for you the first ever precognitive dinner report. Yes, right now, I will predict with startling accuracy what I will consume for dinner this evening — before it happens!

I gaze into my scrying stone and sense that my meal tonight will be at The Pepper Pod with Dave, who plays Dr. Scott (great Scott!) in our show. We will sit in a booth, and I will order a salsbury steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cottage cheese. A cola product to drink. Dinner will be good and comforting, but nothing earth shattering. After a nice dinner and good conversation, Dave and I will go over to work on THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW’s final dress rehearsal at Falcon Theater. The show opens tomorrow (and I predict a very full, energetic, and successful run!).

I further predict that the salsbury steak will not ’sit well’ in my stomach, and I will be a gaseous mass (with apologies to David, who is stuck in the production booth with me!) tonight.

MAJOR UPDATE TO THIS STORY: As it turns out, I am more of an “extra large” and a “medium”… Dave & I met as planned but decided to dine at Lightfoot’s Restaurant instead, and I’m glad we did. We had seafood-stuffed mushrooms, green salads, and fried bologna sandwiches. They were delicious, and the service has improved considerably at Lightfoot’s.

Another technical rehearsal this evening for ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Falcon Theater. The rehearsal went very well, though I was a bit late coming home this evening because of responsibilities at my office (we’re having our accreditation visit this week — stressful!) so we rocketed down to the theater. Once I got set for the show, I ran next door to Pasquali’s Pizza for a hoagie, which I gobbled down while standing up.

I crave salads and fresh vegetables. Maybe I should drink some V8.

Another meal on the run tonight. I traveled to Wilberforce University today for a career fair so was on the road most of the day. I got home, gave the dogs a snack and the chance to stretch their legs outside for a while, and gobbled a can of cheese ravioli, some yogurt, and water.

These are the few quiet minutes spent at home between work and rehearsal for ROCKY HORROR SHOW which we’re doing at Falcon Theater. It opens this weekend (October 20). If you’re interested, information and ticket reservations can be found at the Falcon Theater website.

An incredibly simple dinner this evening because I was running far behind my time today. I was trying to get away from the office a few minutes early because the weather was bad. Bad weather (in this case, rain) and Cincinnati drivers do not mix! However, I couldn’t get out very early because we’re busy preparing for our accreditation visit at work. Added to that fact is that I am travelling tomorrow for business.

I got home and set to creating a sign — “ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!” — for decoration of the theater where we’re doing ROCKY HORROR SHOW (it’s at Falcon Theater if you want to attend!). I got it sketched onto the board and then it was time to go down to the theater for “First Tech”. I grabbed a breakfast bar, some yogurt, and a soda and was out the door.

First tech went well. Very well. Better than it should have, honestly. Typically first techs are a trainwreck, but this actually went quite well.
