I noticed that my pageviews have skyrocketed over the last few days.

A bit of investigation reveals that G4 tv’s popular technology news-and-reviews show, ATTACK OF THE SHOW did a piece on Evernote, an information management tool that I use and advocate. My website (and photo) appears in Evernote’s promotional video which shows features of their software. This promotional video was used to generate content for the short segment that appeared on ATTACK OF THE SHOW.

Apparently, lots of G4 viewers have Personal Video Recorders and single-framed through the video to see my URL, and then came visiting. Welcome! I hope you enjoy the site.

After a very long beta period, Celtx 1.0, a wonderful open-source tool for cinematic writing, has been released to the public. The price is right, too – it costs NOTHING to use! I’ve been involved with Celtx for a couple years now, and am pleased to see it mature into such a full-featured product that is so tightly integrated.

If you are at all interested in cinematic pursuits — screenwriting, playwrighting, even comic book writing — check out Celtx at http://www.celtx.com!

Wendy & I slept in since we were exhausted from THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Falcon Theater. We got up in the early afternoon and got right into… shooting our submission for a food television show contest! Our friends Robin & Dave helped shoot the 3 minute audition tape. It took us approximately 90 minutes to shoot it, then several additional hours to edit it into the final 3-minute submission, which we burned to DVD.

Between shooting and editing, we dined at a local Mexican restaurant. I had a cheese quesadilla which was very tasty.

Thanks to Robin and Dave for their help and patience with putting this audition together!

A stay-at-home night tonight since Wendy didn’t have rehearsal for ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Falcon Theater. We stayed in, watched TV (got all caught up on the first two episodes of the new season of HOUSE), I had a dinner of frozen pizza (5 cheese and garlic), and have now moved upstairs to mess with computers a bit.

Today, I took a vacation day from the office to volunteer on an episode of THE DISH, Jean-Robert’s cooking show that airs on Channel 12 in Cincinnati.
I arrived at 10:00am and reported to the set of the show. Well, actually, to the tiny kitchen behind the set of the show. Katherine (another volunteer) & I prepped the items for the show. It was a lot of work — especially when interesting requests came in from the hosts of the show — but it was fun and rather laid back. I had a great time and would gladly work prep for it again, schedule permitting.
