Tonight, Wendy & I attended the suprise anniversary party for Bess Arlene and Ossie who are celebrating 25 years of marriage. Their children hosted a lovely party at a clubhouse very near our home, so it was easy to get there and back (a nice change!). They were suitably surprised to see everyone — Bess couldn’t stop smiling the whole night!

The lovebirds were recently back from an anniversary trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and were full of stories (and probably some lobster, too!) from their trip.

Dinner was cheese & crackers, chips & salsa, shish-kabobs, salad, and a very nice cake for dessert.

Sorry this has taken so long, but it has been a hectic 7 weeks since returning from the Iberostar Bavaro. You may have read my review of the Iberostar Dominicana from March. My wife and I, along with our neighbors were there the first week of March ‘03 and absolutely feel in love with Punta Cana. I stated in that review that we loved it so much that we were considering taking our two youngest daughters (Christina-6, Caity-13) back in the summer. Well it took some time to convince my wife (not too much.), that we needed to return. BINGO. We were at the resort this time from Sat. Aug.2 thru Sat Aug. 9, 2003.

The gang all returned to Punta Cana this October for a reunion trip. For two couples it was their 1st year anniversary trip. For one, a more-years-than-that anniversary trip. And for Andrew and Wendy, just a chance to soak in some sun with good friends. We have just returned from our second year in a row at the Palace, and we were not disappointed. Last year my fiance and I went in October and met 6 new friends from the US and Canada. We all had such a great time that we returned this year together for another great week. Most of the “Punta Cana Gang” met tonight at Ray & Belinda’s house for drinks before going out together for dinner at Buca di Beppo.

Without Max & Marie there to complete the “Gang”, we were only operating at 75% capacity, but we managed to have a good time anyway. After a giant dinner at the restaurant, it was back to Ray & Belinda’s to look longingly at the desserts that wouldn’t fit in our over-stuffed bellies.
