HAPPY MOUTH — July 2002

The July 2002 meeting of the HAPPY MOUTH SUPPER CLUB was July 27, 2002 at STURKEY’S in Wyoming, Ohio.

There were nine of us this time: Ted, Tracy, John, Ed, Holly, Jay, Wendy B., Wendy W., and Andrew. And BOY did we feast!

We enjoyed Sturkey’s Blackstone Chardonnay wine very much — three bottles worth! We also enjoyed several appetizers, from a Smoked Salmon, Goat Cheese, and Artichoke dip to their very nice-n-spicy Seafood Gumbo, to Smoked Chicken and Andouille Spring Rolls, through their very tasty Hudson Valley Foie Gras with Seared Sea Scallops. If you know that Happy Mouth is coming to your restaurant, put foie gras on the menu! We’ll eat it! 

Dinner was very good also, with a variety of plates, all being passed and shared.

Dinner items included:

• Grilled Yellowfin Tuna & Lobster

 

• Lamb with Hoisin, Chocolate, Mint Sauce

 

• Prime Beef Medallions

 

• Baby Back Ribs

 

• Eggplant Vegetable Ravioli

 

• Filet Mignon

Since Paul & Pam Sturkey are a husband-and-wife team (he is a chef, and she is a pastry chef), we couldn’t go without dessert. We had a sampling of Pam’s desserts, including:

• Bailey’s Chocolate Cheesecake Cake

 

• Tres Brulees

 

• Chocolate Hazelnut Hart Torte

 

• Chocolate Cherry & Orange Ricotta Roulade

 

The desserts at Sturkey’s did not disappoint… Everything was delicious!
