2003: What We Ate

In this series, we record each-and-every evening meal we’ve eaten for the entire year of 2003.

Tonight was LEFTOVER FOR DINNER night. After culinary class, in which we worked on poultry, there was plenty of food left over. I’ve gotten wise and take storage containers with me to each class.

I brought home some duck breast with carmelized apples, roasted turkey, and Chicken Legs Grandmere (boned chicken thighs & legs that we stuffed with a bread stuffing, rolled, baked, and sauced).

That’s what we ate!

After a day’s diving at FALLING ROCK QUARRY to complete our Rescue Diver Certification, we ate at a local Hometown Pizza with our friends Chris & Rebecca.

Most of the “Punta Cana Gang” met tonight at Ray & Belinda’s house for drinks before going out together for dinner at Buca di Beppo.

Without Max & Marie there to complete the “Gang”, we were only operating at 75% capacity, but we managed to have a good time anyway. After a giant dinner at the restaurant, it was back to Ray & Belinda’s to look longingly at the desserts that wouldn’t fit in our over-stuffed bellies.

This evening, Wendy & I went to a local Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant for some wings & beer. The service was slow, and the place was loud. But the wings were hot & spicy, the beer was cold, and it was fun to be out and watching people from our little corner of the restaurant.

Just a simple meal of "convenience" foods tonight — a can of Ravioli for Drew, and a little bucket of something foul & yellow for Wendy.

She eats some of the weirdest stuff in the world.

On my way to class, I gobbled down half a subway sandwich. Ham & cheese, I think it was.
