Schuba's late show

Greetings all,
Jennifer and I had a great time at the show. We both thought it was
much more enjoyable than the Moonlight Gardens show, which was the
last time we'd seen the band. They sounded a little more polished and
together (or over-rehearsed depending on your opinion) with Jeff, Dave and
Don fitting in even better than before. I was disappointed that we're still
rarely
hearing any new tunes, but it doesn't bug me as much as some of you since
I don't see them perform nearly as often as others might. For the show, we were
nestled into the corner of the wall 'o' coats back by the sound board. Since we
were able to stand on the benches lining that side of the room, our view was
great. Had we stood on the floor, it would've been quite bothersome having
to peek around everyone else's heads.

We also ate at the Harmony grill. We started out with the artichoke dip
which consisted of small bits of artichoke wrapped in pita bread and a parmesan
cheese sauce that we both enjoyed. Jennifer had the spinach salad and I had
the baby back ribs. The food was very good other than I thought the BBQ sauce
on my ribs was a little tangy for my tastes. No dessert, we were both stuffed.
We were seated along the same wall as Jan & company, two tables closer to
the door.

Overall it was a great weekend. I'd recommend a trip to Schuba's at
least once to see OTR or anyone else that might play there. Quite the lovely,
small and intimate room in which to enjoy good music. Other than a small sheet
of photo-etched parts missing from a Panoz model I bought, the trip from Indy
and back went off without a hitch. The model parts are all flat pieces anyway,
I can improvise.

looking forward to new music in the new millenium,
AaronB

ps - The Little Blue River in the song of the same name runs through some land
near Shelbyville, IN that my grandparents used to own. There's an area they
used to farm until the mid-'70's when they moved a little further southeast.
It's got
not much to do with the song, but it's a fun connection to the band,
nevertheless......
